Our United States Flag

As a public service, NwCitizen.US here presents several digital versions of the flag of the United States. Most flags on the web are not even close to the official specifications for US flags. We have endeavored to create versions as close as possible to the official specs. I thank Conrad Suckow, my Air Force barracks mate from 40 years ago during the Cold War, who has researched and then carefully crafted these digital flags.

You are welcome to download any of these flags for your website or your own purposes. No credit need be posted. No permission or request is needed.

September 2, 2005 - Conrad has provided us with a new file that improves on his previous flags. We are posting four file types of the same size flag - so that you can download the version that you prefer. These are especially useful to graphic artists who can then resize to smaller sizes for their needed uses. Clicking links will open flag image in its own window. These are big - 897 pixels high by 1,705 pixels wide - bigger than most comuter monitors.

These also print out well on a home computer. For instance, set your printer to print a horizontal or landscape page and then print the Gif. For me, it printed a flag agout 10.5 inches wide by 5.5 high. Printing will vary between computers and printers. With a little work and skill, you can print out most any size flag you need.

This flag is used on the home page of NwCitizen.

It is a .gif file of 206 x 109 pixels and 1.1K in size. This is a very compact file, less thak 1K in size.

The colors that display on a web browser - as you look at it now - are not the same as are embedded in the file. The file has more true colors, closer to the colors that are specified for flags.

This .gif file is 545 x 288 pixels and comes very close to the official specifications.

The file size is 4.5K, quite small for this size graphic.
This .gif image file is 26 pixels hoist and 50 pixels length, this very compact file is 1.1K in size, a very compact size.
This .jpg image file (also written as jpeg) is the same size flag but is a a file size of only .8K.
This .png image file is a .5K file size.
This .tif image file may look skewed and wrong shaped on your computer screen. However, the actual flag image is the same as the three above. Tiff images do not display well on the Internet. This file is only .9K in size.

This small flag image is 173 x 91 pixels and is 1.8K in size.
